三、阅读理解(共10题,每题2分,共20分)

(一)阅读下面短文,完成26—30题。(共10分)

Many people believe that success comes from talent. However, a growing number of studies show that practice plays a more important role. Anders Ericsson, a famous psychologist, studied violin students at a music academy. He found that the best students had practised about 10,000 hours by the age of twenty, while the average students had practised only about 4,000 hours. This finding led to the well-known "10,000-hour rule".

But is 10,000 hours enough for everyone? Not exactly. The quality of practice matters as much as the quantity. Ericsson later explained that "deliberate practice" — practice with clear goals, immediate feedback and full attention — is the key. Simply repeating the same task for hours without thinking will not make you an expert.

Some researchers also point out that talent cannot be ignored. People differ in height, memory and other physical or mental qualities, which may affect how quickly they improve in certain fields. Therefore, a more reasonable view is that both talent and practice matter, and that the best way to improve is to practise deliberately and patiently.

26. What did Ericsson find about the best violin students?

A. They were born with great talent. B. They practised much more than average students.

C. They started learning music earlier. D. They had better teachers than others.

27. What does "deliberate practice" mean according to the passage?

A. Practising for as long as possible. B. Repeating the same task without thinking.

C. Practising with goals, feedback and attention. D. Practising only when you feel interested.

28. What is the writer's attitude towards the "10,000-hour rule"?

A. Completely supportive. B. Totally doubtful.

C. Partly agreeable. D. Uninterested.

29. What can we learn from the last paragraph?

A. Talent is more important than practice. B. Practice is more important than talent.

C. Neither talent nor practice matters. D. Both talent and practice matter.

30. What is the best title for the passage?

A. The Secret of Success B. How to Play the Violin

C. A Famous Psychologist D. The History of Music

(二)阅读下面短文,完成31—35题。(共10分)

Dear Editor,

I am writing to talk about the use of mobile phones in our school. Last week, our school announced that students would not be allowed to use mobile phones during class time. Some of my classmates were unhappy, saying that phones are useful for looking up new words and taking notes. I understand their point, but I still support the new rule.

First, phones easily distract us. A short message or a game can take away our attention for a long time. Second, too much screen time is bad for our eyes and our sleep. Third, talking face to face with classmates is more helpful for building real friendships.

Of course, phones are not evil. The key is to use them properly. I suggest that the school set up a "phone box" in each classroom, where students can put their phones before class and take them back after school. In this way, we can enjoy the convenience of technology without losing our focus on study.

31. What did Li Hua's school announce last week?

A. Students must buy new phones. B. Students can't use phones during class.

C. Students should bring phones to school. D. Students can play games in class.

32. How many reasons does Li Hua give to support the rule?

A. One. B. Two. C. Three. D. Four.

33. What does the underlined word "distract" probably mean?

A. Take away attention. B. Give help to.

C. Bring pleasure to. D. Cause trouble for.

34. What is Li Hua's suggestion?

A. To stop using phones completely. B. To set up a phone box in each classroom.

C. To allow phones only in the library. D. To sell phones to the school.

35. What is the purpose of this letter?

A. To complain about the school. B. To introduce a new phone.

C. To share his opinion on a school rule. D. To ask for a new classroom.
